Barnet Panthers U15s Gold took the long trip to Colliers Wood at the weekend to take on Broomwood Girls as they counted down the matches until the end of the season

And what a humdinger of a match it was with seven goals, the result swinging between the home and away team with Panthers eventually bringing the three  points home after a number of heart wrenching moments

After a slow start, Alex and Kiara found the back of the net with neat finishes to put the Golds into a 2-0 lead after 25 minutes.

The team continued to attack with Charlene nearly hitting the back of the net with a diving header at the back post and Alex and Kiara coming close to adding to their early goals.

Broomwood then upped the anti before half time to set up an exciting second half.

An exciting second half it was, which saw Broomwood come from 2-1 down to race into a 3-2 lead, with an excellent finish for the third goal.

However Barnet Panthers didn’t let this phase them, picking themselves up to get back on the front foot. The pressure eventually paid off with  Alex scoring her 2nd goal of the game, finding the back of the net with a great looping finish. 3-3

Panthers continued to lay siege to the Broomwood goal in search of a 4th and it eventually came from Kiara, with the ball arrowing into the top right corner from the edge of the box.

The team defended admirably to see the game and out, bringing home the 3 points.

And well done to Panthers for keeping their cool and eeking out a result despite the pressures they were under during the 80 minutes
